What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than to share this very special story with you! My beautiful client Charlotte, has very kindly allowed me to share the story & pictures of how I helped her plan her outfits for a very special weekend away!
Charlotte had previously had a Colour & Shape Analysis with me, some time had passed & she got in contact and sent me this....
Planning for a weekend away can be really stressful when it comes to selecting outfits and trying to pack light. Charlotte & her husband were planning a very special weekend away to London (the first weekend away in a long time and child free!) They had some lovely things planned such as afternoon tea and a trip to the theatre and she wanted the whole weekend to be really special and stress free and not have to worry about what to wear.
Charlotte lives locally to me so we met in a local coffee shop and spent about an hour talking through her plans for the weekend and the kind of outfits she would need to wear. We used my Outfit Planner that I had printed off and we planned out her itinerary and what sort of outfits she would need.
We then made a list of the pieces she already had in her wardrobe that we could use and we made a list of things she might need to buy. My brain starts to get excited at this point and starts dreaming up outfit combinations so we used the remainder of the time together to look at some websites and so I could show Charlotte the type of outfits I was thinking of.
A few WhatsApp messages were exchanged and I sent her some links to some pieces and she then went away and shopped on her own. Because we had such a clear vision of the pieces she needed and she could really picture the look we were trying to create, it was easy for Charlotte to shop for the pieces she needed and was actually an enjoyable process.
She sent me some pictures from the changing rooms & we also did a quick video call while she was shopping in Bluewater, just so she could be certain that she was buying the right thing.
Part of the weekends' plan was a trip to the theatre and Charlotte wanted something really special for this particular night. I wanted her to have something really glamorous that made her feel a million dollars but that she could also wear again. We exchanged a few pictures of the type of thing I had in mind and Charlotte found this dress online.
However, we felt that it looked a little too 'Bridesmaid' so how could we make it work? I gave Charlotte the name of my fabulous seamstress and told her to chop off the bottom to make it a midi-length dress, I felt this would give it a different look and be more appropriate for the theatre. The colour of this dress is perfectly in-keeping with Charlotte's Autumn colour palette.
Charlotte also needed a few pieces for the other activities such as shopping and afternoon tea, as well as an outfit to travel up to London and back. In order to pack light, we created a capsule of pieces that could be worn more than once by mixing and matching to create different outfits and therefore not having to pack loads.
Charlotte sourced most of the pieces on her own and just dropped me a quick message if she was unsure which I was of course happy to answer.
By asking for my help and making a small investment, this whole process was made so much easier for Charlotte and was so worth it. She was able to just go on her weekend and enjoy every single moment. The packing was light and easy and she could get ready every day without any stress or panicking about what to wear. She felt fabulous in everything and was able to just be in the moment and enjoy her weekend.
This is exactly why I do the work I do, because I know how these type of events can send you into a real panic about what to wear. I've been there myself many, many times!
